The ice at K.B. Willett Arena was covered with something the Zamboni couldn’t even clear—teddy bears!

The UW-Stevens Point men’s hockey team, along with the Pointer Blue Line Club, hosted the annual Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday, Dec. 8 against UW-Stout.

Fans were encouraged to bring a new teddy bear to the Willett and, when the Pointers scored their first goal, the fans threw their teddy bears onto the ice.

A total of 185 teddy bears were collected and donated to three great local charities: Operation Bootstrap, the Crisis Center and the Portage County Home.
