Before the ceremony with Holly!

Well, it finally happened! I GRADUATED! This past Saturday, I finished my journey here at Stevens Point. What’s in my future? Moving back to Racine and looking for jobs in athletic training. Since this is my last post as a University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point student, I just want to say thanks. There are some specific people I would like to thank, but if I wrote this to everyone I would like to thank, you would be reading this all day. 😉

To UWSP – Thank you for not just making me a number, but to making me be someone that matters. I have spent four years calling this place home, and it will always be a part of me.

To Holly Schmies, Beth Kinslow and Danelle Smith – Thank you for being my educators and for helping me pave the way to graduation. I would not have done it in four years without you.

To my clinical preceptors – Thank you for showing me our profession and for allowing me to flourish as a student throughout my three years.

To Ben Rockwell – Thank you for giving me the responsibility and independence as a senior with the women’s basketball team and the underclassmen. I learned so much from you, not only about our profession, but also how to be a good human being. Also, thank you for helping me relax and be able to take so many jokes and smile.

To Coach Shirley Egner, Coach Diane Gilbert, and the Pointers women’s basketball team – Thank you for welcoming me into your family and giving me the chance to work with some of the most amazing and driven young women. Thank you for coming to me when you needed things, whether it was sore muscles or just to talk.

To Eva Donohoo – Thank you for giving me this opportunity to blog about something I am so passionate about. I know that I did not write as much as I promised, but I wrote everything with the same amount of love and passion that I know you wanted.

To Jamie, Colton, Sam, Nick, Val, Sarah, Molly, Lindsey, Chelsie, Maddie and Morgan – Thank you for being not only my classmates, but also my family. We have been through so much over three years, and it is so hard to say goodbye. I know that we will keep in touch, and I love you all!

To Rachel – Thank you for being such an inspiration to me as my sister. Being able to call or text you when I need it has been something that has gotten me through so many hard days here. Knowing that I have your love and support is something that I will always cherish.

AND FINALLY…

To Laurie and Chris, my parents – Thank you for EVERYTHING you have done for 21 years. Dad always says that everything you do is because you love me. I know that you will always be proud of the person that I have become, and that no matter what, you will always be there when I need you. I love you to infinity and beyond.

This will never be goodbye, just see you later.

-Sarah
