{"id":11635,"date":"2022-02-09T08:24:19","date_gmt":"2022-02-09T14:24:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/?p=11635"},"modified":"2023-04-04T14:24:39","modified_gmt":"2023-04-04T19:24:39","slug":"uw-stevens-points-school-of-business-and-economics-earns-reaccreditation-by-aacsb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/2022\/02\/09\/uw-stevens-points-school-of-business-and-economics-earns-reaccreditation-by-aacsb\/","title":{"rendered":"UW-Stevens Point\u2019s School of Business and Economics earns reaccreditation by AACSB"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"527\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/sbeaacsb20220209.jpg\" alt=\"Anderson Classroom to Career Center\" class=\"wp-image-11640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/sbeaacsb20220209.jpg 960w, https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/sbeaacsb20220209-300x165.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/sbeaacsb20220209-768x422.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">UW-Stevens Point\u2019s Anderson Classroom to Career Center, a resource for students in the School of Business and Economics, was commended in the school\u2019s reaccreditation by AACSB.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/busecon\/Pages\/default.aspx\">School of Business and Economics<\/a> at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has again earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB),&nbsp;an achievement earned by&nbsp;only 5 percent of the world\u2019s business schools&nbsp;offering business degrees at the bachelor\u2019s level or higher.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/busecon\/Faculty%20Staff%20Library\/_w\/neumankevinMBA_jpg.jpg\" alt=\"Kevin Neuman\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Kevin Neuman<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u201cAACSB accreditation is very significant for the School of Business and Economics,\u201d said Kevin Neuman, head of the school. \u201cSuccessfully extending our accreditation reaffirms the high quality of our programs and validates the growth and continuous improvement of the school.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Achieving reaccreditation&nbsp;is a rigorous process with an AACSB-assigned mentor and peer-review over several years.&nbsp;UW-Stevens Point\u2019s peer review team, comprised of three business deans from universities across the country, evaluated and commended UW-Stevens Point\u2019s School of Business and Economics, highlighting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/busecon\/Pages\/Resources\/Anderson\/default.aspx\">Anderson Classroom to Career Center<\/a> as \u201can exemplary program\u201d that provides multi-dimensional outreach and impacts all students in the school dozens of times during their college career.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The school\u2019s recent implementation of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/busecon\/Pages\/Resources\/Internships.aspx\">internship<\/a> requirement for all undergraduate students, providing opportunities for students to gain relevant and practical experience. It was also noted that a majority of the interns receive full-time job offers upon completion of their internship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The school\u2019s foresight in focusing their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/busecon\/Pages\/Major\/MBA.aspx\">Master of Business Administration (MBA)<\/a> degree program on the Wisconsin economy, which is paying dividends in terms of enrollment, visibility, social impact and graduate outcomes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/AACSB-logo-accredited-color-RGB-1024x346.jpg\" alt=\"AACSB logo accredited\" class=\"wp-image-11636\" width=\"271\" height=\"91\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/AACSB-logo-accredited-color-RGB-1024x346.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/AACSB-logo-accredited-color-RGB-300x101.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/AACSB-logo-accredited-color-RGB-768x259.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 271px) 100vw, 271px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. AACSB accreditation is considered the hallmark of excellence in business education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UW-Stevens Point School of Business and Economics, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/2017\/02\/16\/uw-stevens-point-school-of-business-and-economics-awarded-accreditation-by-aacsb\/\">first accredited by AACSB in 2017<\/a>, has nearly 900 students taught by 25 full-time faculty and staff. It offers majors in accounting, business administration, business economics, data analytics, finance, management and marketing as well as the&nbsp;MBA in applied leadership and decision-making.
