[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/media\/set\/?set=a.565360686825136.138504.205425642818644&amp;type=1\">Photo Gallery<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p>The Teaching Conference Planning Committee assembled various panel discussions and presentations that demonstrate UWSP\u2019s ongoing commitment to quality teaching that leads to student success. With input from last year&#8217;s conference participants, as well as ongoing campus discussions, the planning committee identified four main sub-themes: Embracing Our Diverse Populations, Redefining The Classroom, Thinking About Teaching and Learning Through the New GEP Lens, and Reflecting On Our Teaching &#8211; A Scholarly Approach. Based on the proposals submitted by faculty and staff, this year\u2019s program included concurrent sessions representing all four sub-themes.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, due to the impressive number of submissions, an extension of the conference has been proposed as a Teaching and Learning Series for this upcoming spring semester.<\/p>\n<p>College of Professional Studies faculty presentations included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>Paula DeHart<\/strong> (Education)<\/strong>: What Does it Mean to be a Teaching Institution?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pam Terrell<\/strong> (Communicative Disorders) with Jim Joque and Marge Strong (Disability and Assistive Technology Center): Inclusive Excellence in the Classroom: Accommodating Students with Disabilities<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kristi Roth<\/strong> (Physical Education &amp; Athletic Training): Teaching with Technology: Apps, Websites, and Flipping a Class<\/li>\n<li><strong>Christine Gould, Leslie McClain<\/strong> (Education) with Dona Warren: A Glimpse into the McCaig Files: A Primer on Being a University Teacher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cWhat it means to be a teaching and learning institution?\u201d That was the big question at the 17th Annual UW-Stevens Point Teaching Conference, Education As Transformation, held in the Alumni Room of the Dreyfus University Center on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013.
