{"id":2868,"date":"2013-05-06T18:38:24","date_gmt":"2013-05-06T23:38:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/?p=2868"},"modified":"2013-05-06T18:38:24","modified_gmt":"2013-05-06T23:38:24","slug":"leaving-on-a-jet-plane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/2013\/05\/06\/leaving-on-a-jet-plane\/","title":{"rendered":"Leaving on a Jet Plane"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_3002\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/04\/Brittany-Louvre.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-3002 \" alt=\"Brittany-Louvre\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/04\/Brittany-Louvre.jpg\" width=\"576\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption>The Louvre, Paris, France<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As a campus ambassador (or tour guide) for the past few years for UW-Stevens Point, I often get the questions, \u201cIs there anything you regret not doing while being a college student?\u201d When I was first asked this question, I will admit that I was stumped, so I turned to my classmates and friends for their responses.<\/p>\n<p>And the number one most popular response to this question was:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;Drum roll please\u2026 &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u201cI wish I would have studied abroad!\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, I did not have this regret as I had the opportunity to study abroad for a three-week, three-credit art, architecture, and design program. Through this program, we traveled throughout England on a coach bus viewing all of the amazing and historical buildings. Not only this, but we were also allowed to have 3-4 days off for independent study. So what better way to spend this time than to travel with a group of friends to Paris, France!<\/p>\n<p>Before coming to college, I had never traveled outside of the US, but through the above trip along with mission trips to Panama, Turkey, and Africa through Peace Lutheran Campus Center, I have definitely caught the travel bug. So my advice to you is to travel outside of your comfort zone.
