The two childhood friends are running a\u00a050-mile ultramarathon on October 26, 2013, to <a href=\"http:\/\/running50.com\/donate-now\/\" target=\"_blank\">raise $10,000<\/a> for\u00a0<a title=\"The Mission Continues Post\" href=\"http:\/\/running50.com\/all-you-need-to-know-about-the-mission-continues\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Mission Continues<\/a>, a national service organization that helps veterans transition from the military to service and leadership programs where they can continue to serve in their communities.<\/p>\n<p>The two took different paths out of high school. Chrisinger <a href=\"http:\/\/athletics.uwsp.edu\/roster.aspx?path=football&amp;rp_id=558\">played football for the Pointers<\/a> and needed to find a competitive replacement after graduation, so he started to run. Meanwhile, Foley who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, was searching to find a purpose during his transition to civilian life. And that&#8217;s when they reconnected.<\/p>\n<p>Chrisinger and Foley helped each other through life struggles and running became a means to reach their goal of helping veterans find\u00a0renewed strength and purpose.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>While we train for this race and raise money for The Mission Continues, we will also be sharing <a title=\"Blog\" href=\"http:\/\/running50.com\/blog\/\">Brett\u2019s story<\/a>.
