{"id":5409,"date":"2015-01-20T22:27:51","date_gmt":"2015-01-20T22:27:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/?p=5409"},"modified":"2015-01-20T22:41:45","modified_gmt":"2015-01-20T22:41:45","slug":"pe-alumni-earn-whpe-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/2015\/01\/20\/pe-alumni-earn-whpe-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"PE alumni, faculty earn WHPE awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/01\/whpeawards2014.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-5410\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.uwsp.edu\/cps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/01\/whpeawards2014.jpg\" alt=\"whpeawards2014\" width=\"250\" height=\"325\" \/><\/a>Four UW-Stevens Point physical education alumni and a professor earned state awards from the <span lang=\"en-us\">Wisconsin Health and Physical Education at the WHPE annual conference in October.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.whpe.us\/awards.htm#Promising\" target=\"_blank\">Promising Professional<\/a>: Erika Minzlaff &#8217;12<\/strong> (Dr. Benjamin Carson Academy of Science, Milwaukee)<br \/>\n<em><span lang=\"en-us\">This award is given to a WHPE member who has been a practicing professional five (5) years or less and has shown active involvement, leadership and service as defined by the WHPE mission and goals.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.whpe.us\/awards.htm#Service\" target=\"_blank\">Outstanding Service Award<\/a>: Andrea Brehm &#8217;06 <\/strong>(Hemlock Creek Elementary School, West De Pere),<strong> Chuck Brehm &#8217;06 <\/strong>(Westwood Elementary, West De Pere) and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/peat\/Pages\/Faculty\/kroth.aspx\"><strong> Professor Kristi Roth<\/strong><\/a> (UW-Stevens Point School of Physical Education &amp; Athletic Training)<br \/>\n<em><span lang=\"en-us\">This award is to be determined solely by the WHPE president in recognition for service and assistance rendered to them during their term as president.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.whpe.us\/scholarships.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Larry Cain Memorial Scholarship<\/a>: Evan Guell &#8217;13 <\/strong>(Gibraltar Elementary School, <span class=\"body\">Fish Creek<\/span>)<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><em><span lang=\"en-us\">The scholarship includes a one year membership to WHPE, convention dues, banquet, and one night\u2019s lodging at convention.<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Four UW-Stevens Point physical education alumni and a professor earned state awards from the Wisconsin Health and Physical Education at the WHPE annual conference in October.
