The WEA\u00a0 holds its annual conference every fall, bringing together students and economists from academic, government, and private-sector positions.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Devin Christensen (left) presented &#8220;On Economic Normativism,&#8221; while junior Aaron Konichek (right) addressed attendees with his &#8220;On Welfare Programs and Economic Growth&#8221; presentation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One of the main goals of the conference is to provide a forum for exceptional undergraduate students across the state to present their research,&#8221; said Associate Professor of Economics Jason Davis.<\/p>\n<p>The WEA supports undergraduate and graduate student research presentations, research into the teaching of economics at the college and university level, and research examining topics of regional interest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two UW-Stevens Point economics students spoke at the 2011 Wisconsin Economics Association (WEA) annual meeting, held at the Stevens Point Country Club on Nov. 4-5.
