The program recognized its 2015-16 graduates, student scholarship and award winners, donors, alumni and supporting professionals in the Noel Fine Arts Center Courtyard on Thursday, May 12, 2016. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/media\/set\/?set=a.1212847248734566.1073741884.275190055833628&amp;type=3\">Photo Gallery<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p>The event was highlighted by alumni guest speaker Emily Jeanpierre \u201914. Emily earned her BFA from the UW-Stevens Point Division of Interior Architecture in 2014. Earlier this year, she joined the dynamic environment design firm ZEBRADOG where she coordinates project timelines and helps keep clients, developers, strategists and designers on their toes. Previously, Emily was an interior designer and furniture project manager at a Knoll commercial design dealership. In her free time, she\u2019s an avid runner and is always planning her next travel destination.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Featured Donor<\/strong><br \/>\nMary Ann Baird<\/p>\n<p><strong>College of Professional Studies Outstanding Students Dean\u2019s Award<\/strong><br \/>\nFreshman: Bianca Perez<br \/>\nSophomore: Hannah Champion<br \/>\nJunior: Dylan Schnese<br \/>\nSenior: Brian Lawrence<\/p>\n<p><strong>Division Awards for Academic Excellence<\/strong><br \/>\nFirst year: Brittany Laffin and Kaitlyn Hegewald<br \/>\nSecond year: Abbey Johnson<br \/>\nThird year: Laura Schade-Stroik<br \/>\nFourth year: Heather Dryfka, Genevieve Richard and Minami Kohmura<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patricia C. Kluetz ASID Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nRecipient: Abbey Johnson<br \/>\n<em>Pat Kluetz spent 25 years as a professor at UW-Stevens Point. Her passion to this day is her students and what opportunities the profession offers emerging designers. Pat had the unique opportunity to work with talented and creative students who have emerged from our program to become impressive professional interior designers. She continues to be involved in some teaching and continuing education programs on campus and serves as a professional liaison to the Division of Interior Architecture ASID Student Chapter.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jane Wright Abrahamsen Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nRecipients: Madey Anderson and Angelica Henschel<br \/>\n<em>The Jane Wright Abrahamsen Scholarship was established in 1994 by Martin Abrahamsen in memory of his wife. A 1933 home economics graduate, Jane was a member of the Home Economics Club and the women\u2019s basketball team. She taught for four years, then went back to UWSP for graduate credits. She was an employee of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the University of Maryland.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bernice Kurzynski Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nRecipient: Mo Me Ko<br \/>\n<em>Bernice Kurzynski retired from UWSP after 37 years, including serving as the academic department associate in the Division of Interior Architecture. As a UWSP alumna, Bernice was always dedicated to her work and service to the university. Her scholarship was established by IA faculty and staff at the time of her retirement to honor her endless contributions and service to the division.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Natalie &amp; Paul Ciulla Interior Architecture Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nRecipients: Mackenzie Luck and Jaycie Chart<br \/>\n<em>Natalie Ciulla was an alumna and instructor in the Division of Interior Architecture. Her husband Paul was also dedicated to quality design. Natalie\u2019s mother Antonia Nichiporuk with close family friends, Kar-Keat Chong, Ann Fitz, Kathe Julin, and Pam Leviton, established a scholarship in their names to support young designers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dora Phelps Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nRecipient: Kendra Kudla<br \/>\n<em>This fund was established to provide a scholarship to a part-time student employee in interior architecture, family &amp; consumer sciences or dietetics.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Agnes A. Jones Undergraduate Home Economics Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nRecipient: Taylor Literski<br \/>\n<em>Agnes Jones was a high school home economics teacher, a supervisor of home economics student teachers at UW-Madison, and home economics department chair at Northern Illinois University before she was appointed as head of home economics at what was then Wisconsin State College-Stevens Point in 1957. Jones and her faculty were innovative creators of programs and during one five-year period received more than half a million federal dollars. She and Bonnie McDonald were early pioneers in the Wisconsin Head Start program. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mary Ann Baird Interior Architecture Scholarship for International Study<\/strong><br \/>\nRecipient: Monica Castillo<br \/>\n<em>Mary Ann Baird, head of the Division of Interior Architecture from 1978-96, established this scholarship upon her retirement from UWSP. She taught at UWSP for 38 years and established this scholarship to assist students interested in semester international study programs.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>ASID Student Chapter Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nRecipients: Heather Zietler, Jessica Pike, Mikaela Emperor and Johrie Hicks<br \/>\n<em>The funds for this scholarship were generated through a raffle held at the annual UWSP ASID Student Chapter banquet for students, alumni and faculty. The scholarship is awarded to students who have made significant contributions to the ASID Student Chapter.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education Grant<\/strong><br \/>\nRecipient: Laura Schade-Stroik<br \/>\n<em>P.E.O.
