Obtain experience in behavior change facilitation, promotion and marketing, and<br \/>\norganizational experience approved by the site supervisor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Behavior Change:\n<ol>\n<li>At the completion of this internship, intern will be able to present clinical findings of a<br \/>\ncommunity-based organization and its progress towards becoming more accessible via the web and cell phone devices.<\/li>\n<li>Teach and participate in monthly dances at the African American Art &amp; Culture Complex.<\/li>\n<li>Tabulate health metrics (such as glucose, AIC, blood pressure, weight, demographics, and<br \/>\nquality of life) of participants who attend monthly dances.<\/li>\n<li>Telephone Dance Out Diabetes participants at least once in between the monthly dances<br \/>\nfor follow-up on program satisfaction, exercise frequency, reminders about upcoming<br \/>\ndances, requests for music, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Promotion and Marketing:\n<ol>\n<li>Facilitate marketing by keeping community calendars up-to-date with Dance Out<br \/>\nDiabetes dances and events.<\/li>\n<li>Update the Dance Out Diabetes website and provide social media \/marketing and updates<br \/>\non Facebook.<\/li>\n<li>Create a cell phone application participants can use to access Dance Out Diabetes<br \/>\nprograms.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Organizational:\n<ol>\n<li>Develop Dance Out Diabetes plan to increase access via web-based activities, such as<br \/>\nvideo recordings and dances, to users who are unable to participate in the Dance Out<br \/>\nDiabetes events in San Francisco.<\/li>\n<li>Summarize the structure used for at least 2 existing online structured exercise programs<br \/>\n(this assessment will help us gain ideas on how to build our web-based access).<\/li>\n<li>Provide instruction to and be a resource for participants on how to use our online patient<br \/>\nportal.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in all Board of Director or related teleconferences and meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with the Executive Director at least 3 times per month and hold at least bi-weekly<br \/>\nconference calls to discuss status of and need for support of goals.<\/li>\n<li>Create a list of popular dance venues that would be used as the outline for filming related<br \/>\ndance instructors to post on our website.
