This year&#8217;s Teaching Partners participants met for an orientation session on Friday, Jan. 20, led by the co-directors of the Focus on Teaching and Learning program Donna Zimmerman and Kristi Roth.<\/p>\n<p>Teaching Partners is a program in which faculty and teaching academic staff are paired and asked to begin a discussion about teaching and learning. With the assistance of their partner, they learn a process to help begin critically evaluating their own teaching practices. Partners are paired across disciplines to give them an opportunity to meet colleagues in a field outside of their own and to be exposed to new teaching perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a way to have other faculty give you valuable feedback,&#8221; said Tim Wright, assistant professor of health education and former Teaching Partner participant. &#8220;Seeing others teach also opens your eyes to opportunities you can incorporate into your classroom.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s participants are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dawn Barten (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/shcp\/\">Health Care Professions<\/a>) and Chris Burch (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/ia\">Interior Architecture<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Aaron Kadoch (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/ia\">Interior Architecture<\/a>) and Charlie Osborne (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/comd\">Communicative Disorders<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Sarah Gunnell (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/hphd\">Health Promotion &amp; Human Development<\/a>) and Megan Craig (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/peat\">Physical Education &amp; Athletic Training<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Mitch Rasmussen (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/shcp\/\">Health Care Professions<\/a>) and Christine Schalow (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/busecon\">Business &amp; Economics<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Celebrating its 19th year, the Teaching Partners program continues to bring a focus of teaching and learning to the UW-Stevens Point College of Professional Studies.
