After an extensive interview process with health care organizations, 28 students in the clinical laboratory science<\/a> (CLS) program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point are set to be placed at hospitals around the state for <\/span> clinical practicums beginning in fall 2019. “Students benefit tremendously from these real-life experiences,”\u00a0says Senior Lecturer Michelle Shulfer. “They are ready to hit the ground running in their first job because of these clinical practicums.”<\/p>\n

Housed within the School of Health Care Professions<\/a>, the CLS program at UW-Stevens Point is among the largest in the state and one of only three in the state with national accreditation. <\/span>UW-Stevens Point offers three options<\/a> in clinical laboratory science program: cytotechnology, histotechnology and medical technology. <\/span>Students must complete a clinical practicum in order to fulfill the requirements for national certification. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
