Messing up and cleaning up

Well, the dodecahedron did not turn out. It got off in the middle somewhere and never recovered. I came in the next morning to find a nice bottom half and a big tangle of messy strands of plastic all over the top and sides. According to a web entry, this model printed without supports on some printer, but since the problem occurred shortly after the overhanging parts started printing, I wonder if I will need supports to do this one. mess-2

The cleaning up was easy, and the printer seems fine. I took this occasion to scrape the glue off the build plate. I had been adding a little more for some of the prints, but mostly it was staying in place with no problems. I added a little glue, not even a full layer, for my next print. Next I am trying part of the Volumes of Hanoi shells from Thingiverse and MakerHome, Day 144: https://makerhome.blogspot.com/2014_01_17_archive.html
