Whether your student is bringing a car to campus or planning to explore Stevens Point on foot or bike, we offer a range of transportation options to help them get where they need to go.

Parking on Campus:

Students who bring a car will need to purchase a parking permit through UWSP Parking Services. Permits are required in all campus lots and are available for different locations based on student housing and need.

Permit sales begin on July 7 at 8 a.m. for incoming graduate students, seniors and juniors (60 or more credits earned), July 9 at 8 a.m. for sophomores and returning freshman (30 or more credits earned) and July 14 at 8 a.m. for incoming students. Students will receive an email with step-by-step instructions for purchasing their $300 permit online. Mark your calendars because permits are on a first-come, first-serve basis. After they are they are sold out, there is a waitlist process. Motorcycles permits are also available to purchase. Mopeds (50 cc’s and under) can park by the bike racks on campus without contacting Parking Services.

Alternative Parking:

  • Remote Lot Option: For students who don’t need daily parking near residence halls, remote lots are a cost-saving alternative. Shuttle service and regular pick-up options make this choice both budget-friendly and accessible. The remote lot option (Sentry Dixon St.) is 1.5 miles from campus, on the city bus route, and is $250.
  • Commuter Student Options: Commuters also have dedicated permit types and can select locations closest to academic buildings and resources.
  • Rideshare: Students can join the official UWSP Rideshare group on the ZeeMee App.
  • City Bus: The bus is free with a valid UWSP ID. Bus tracker, routes and schedule can be found, here.
