Here at UWSP, we are lucky to have enriching and fun jobs for students all over campus. Having on-campus jobs is a convenient way to work while in school. Not only is the location ideal for students, but the scheduling is flexible and works great for those with busy schedules or heavy class loads. UWSP offers both Federal Work–Study (FWS) and regular non-FWS jobs. These jobs help us take learning outside of the classroom and make even more connections with our peers on campus!
If you are interested in finding an on-campus job, take a look at CASEConnect! This is a free website that provides access to job postings within the Stevens Point community, as well as right here on the UWSP campus! From CASEConnect you will be directed to the “Workday” website, which will just show you all the available jobs here on campus!
Here are some great examples of jobs we have on campus:
- Housing and Residence Front Desk Assistant:
This job is a great way to meet new people on campus or even within your dorm hall. Plus, it is convenient for students who still live here on campus. You will get to know the ins and outs of the dorm halls and how to help with event postings.
- Peer Tutors:
Peer tutoring is a great way to use skills you are actively studying in school. This job allows you to work with students from all over campus in your own field of study, as those who may not major in that field but could need help! Not only does it give you more practice, but it also allows you to help other students out!
- Brewhaus Barista
Hop in line to work at one of our campuses’ cutest little spots! This little coffee shop in the basement of the DUC is a hangout for students all over campus and is a great time to make some fun drinks and talk to all types of students!
- Laboratory Assistants
UWSP is known for its sciences, and our campus jobs represent that! If you are interested in sciences, check out the “Workday” website and see all the labs looking for assistants and helpers to do all sorts of tasks in the labs to further the idea of hands-on learning.
- Catering Event Staff
With Catering Event Staff, you get to work a plethora of unique campus events with this campus job. You get to help set up and work these events all over campus while experiencing many new events. Plus, this is a great way to meet new people outside of your major.
Finally, we have the option of internships! Multiple majors around campus have internship requirements. Luckily, there are multiple internships on campus that will help the students work and earn money as well as complete their internship credits for their desired major! These jobs allow students to work directly on skills that will aid them in their careers following graduation!
I have been lucky enough to have one of these internships here on campus that counts towards my internship credits for my majors. I found the listing on “Workday” after talking to a friend about the opening. This internship is an amazing job here on campus because, like most on-campus jobs, it has flexible hours and has provided me with so many learning opportunities in a field of work I am interested in. Plus, it has given me great new friendships with people here on campus and many chances to grow in my future profession.
