UW-Stevens Point is committed to sustainability here on campus. We show our commitment through recycling, composting food waste, energy reduction and more.

One of the big ways UWSP also focuses on sustainability here on campus is by providing access to two important student resources: The Closet and The Backpack.

The Closet

The Closet is UWSP students’ resource for free, used clothing! Students can stop in and take any of the clothing that is there. This resource reduces clothing waste by allowing students and community members to donate items that they are no longer wearing!

There are many clothing options, from everyday wear to winter gear. Plus, a variety of sizes and clothing types to fit everyone’s needs.

This is also perfect for any student who is on a tight budget. Not only is The Closet sustainable, but it also provides a place for students to get clothing without spending money.

The Closet is located at Nelson Hall 234, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Donations can be dropped off outside of the room!

The Backpack

There is also The Backpack; this is where students can get free school supplies, home supplies and hygiene products!  This saves students on the cost of buying new supplies and allows unused products to be donated.

The Backpack is in Nelson Hall 220 open again from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday! Donations can also be dropped off outside of the room.

The Closet and The Backpack are here to help you succeed! Stop by Nelson Hall to check them out.

As always, it’s a great day to be a Pointer!
