Taking a Winterim class during your time at UWSP can be a great way to get ahead and make the most of your winter break! Winterim classes can help you complete degree requirements, give you more flexibility in your regular semester schedule, or allow you to take fewer credits during the spring semester. Whether you are looking to check a class off your list or get a head start on your degree, Winterim can be a great opportunity!
Winterim classes give students the chance to make progress toward their degree while enjoying their winter break. While these classes move at a faster pace than a regular semester course, they are a great way to stay on track and accomplish your academic goals. Important Dates
- Registration Begins: Monday, October 26, 2026
- Classes Run: January 4–22, 2027
- January 5, 2027: Last day to drop a class without receiving a W on your transcript.
- January 15, 2027: Last day to drop a class and receive a W on your transcript.
- January 16–22, 2027: No drops are permitted during the final week of Winterim.
Your registration date and time will depend on how many credits you have already earned. To see when you can register, check your registration window through your myPoint portal account.
You do not need special advisor authorization to register for a Winterim class. However, undergraduate students still need to follow the standard guidelines for Spring semester registration.
