Hey Pointers! As the semester continues, it is important to find spaces where you can study and
complete all of your work. Here are some of the best study spaces around campus!
The Gale and Paul Kirby Library and Student Resource Center:
Number one has got to be our new library! Our new library includes four floors and has SO
many different study spots with amazing views! Whether you’re looking for a cozy solo
pod or a big booth to meet up for a group project, our library has it! My favorite spot is by the
windows on the third floor with a great view of the E Pluribus Unum tile mural on the College of Natural Resources Building!
The Dreyfus University Center:
The DUC has three floors, and all are great options for studying. On the first floor, you can enjoy
a drink from the Homegrown Cafe and sit in one of the multiple study areas offered. If you move
to the second floor, you can find the DUC food court, complete with all kinds of seating and
great snacks while you hit the books. The second floor also has a computer lab!
The first and second floor tend to have brighter lighting and quite a few people around. If you’re
looking for a space that’s a little dimmer and quieter, try the Basement Brewhaus! The
Brewhaus is located in the basement of the DUC. This is a great spot to get fun drinks, sprawl
on a comfy couch and even take a study break to play some pool!
The Chemistry Biology Building:
The Chem-Bio building is a great spot to grab your favorite coffee or refresher and study away.
With the Common Ground Cafe on the first floor, you can grab a drink and snack and get to
work. The first floor is filled with natural sunlight and seating by the windows. If you go upstairs,
there are plenty of quiet nooks and crannies to study at!
Outside:
Our campus is filled with beautiful landscaping and outdoor places to sit! Try to utilize all the
picnic tables and yard spaces before it’s too cold outside!
Dorms (For our folks living on campus):
All of the dorms on campus have a spacious basement with plenty of seating for those of you on
campus who aren’t looking to go super far for a nice, quiet study spot! There are a couple
closed off quiet spaces where you can study in absolute silence or even rehearse for an
upcoming recital!
