It’s that time of year, folks! Cold and flu season has made its annual arrival. Luckily, Student Health Services on campus is here to help you stay as healthy as possible this year.
One of the best ways to avoid contracting the flu is to get your flu shot, which is a service offered for free here on campus. Every October, Health Services hosts a flu shot clinic in the DUC. If you are unable to make it, no worries! Students can schedule an appointment for a vaccine during a time that works for their schedule. If you are feeling a cold coming on, Health Services also offers a walk-in nurse clinic for cold symptoms.
The best part is that these are free of charge! Most services at Student Health Service are pre-paid via the segregated fee for Student Health Service as part of tuition.
If you are feeling sick, stay home! To prevent the spread of influenza, the best thing to do is stay home until at least 24 hours after the fever is gone or symptoms have improved. If you are going to miss class, be sure to email your professor and check Canvas to get caught up on what you will be missing.
Located in Delzell Hall, Health Services is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Note that they are closed for lunch 12-1 p.m.
To schedule an appointment, call 715-346-4646, or access the Student Health Service Patient Portal. The Health Services staff will work with you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible.
