One great thing about UWSP is our campus has a Student Health Service center. Student Health Services provides student-centered health care that empowers and promotes wellness for all UWSP Students. During the fall and spring semesters, Student Health Services are available to all enrolled UW-Stevens Point students.
Services that include no additional charge are:
- Unlimited outpatient visits to see a clinician for a physical, illness, injury or concern
- Laboratory testing (performed on-site)
- Pharmacy medications for acute illness and injury (on-site pharmacy)
- Health promotion/wellness including physical examinations
- Physicals for Childcare Clearance
- Sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening, counseling, and treatment for women and men
- Reproductive healthcare (including annual gynecologic exams, contraceptive counseling and care)
- Minor surgery (wound repair, suture removal)
- Nutrition counseling with a Registered Dietician
- Mental health visits and management of medications
- Travel consultations for international travelers
- Walk in nurse clinic for cold symptoms
- Annual influenza vaccine
What is available at Student Health Services but NOT covered by your pre-paid fee (additional charges may result):
- Allergy shots – $20 per visit
- Tb skin tests – $15
- Sports Physicals & Pre-Employment Physicals – $20
- Other vaccinations are charged at the cost of the vaccine
- Specialty laboratory tests performed at the Student Health lab (basic panels, flu tests)
- Medications taken on an ongoing basis (available based on pharmacy inventory, provided at low cost)
- Radiology (X-ray, ultrasound) – these services can be ordered by Student Health to be done at local providers, with charges per your insurance policy’s coverage and reimbursement at that provider
- No show/late cancellation fee – $20 (applies to appointments that are not cancelled the day prior)
Services NOT covered by the pre-paid fee or provided by Student Health Services:
- Hospitalization and specialist visits at community clinics
- Emergency room or urgent care visits
- Specialty laboratory tests performed by an outside laboratory
- Medication obtained at community commercial pharmacies
- Complex wound care or surgical procedures
