Sometimes it is hard to get a feel for what it is actually like to attend a college. You can look at all of the brochures and advertised videos that you want, but the best insight that you can get for a potential university is from the perspective of the current students. The College Tour is a TV series that dives into the lives of students and explores what it is like to actually attend a college. Luckily for us, they paid the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point a visit, and coming up very shortly, we get our very own episode.
The best thing about The College Tour is its emphasis on students, so we have some awesome Pointers who will be featured in the episode to talk about a variety of experiences at the school. It will feature Kaia Fitzgerald who is discussing career readiness, Elliott Becker will highlight research and being a first-generation student, Logan Dvorak will talk about learning outside the classroom, Ashley Authement will dive into sustainability, and Mike Ayensu-Mensah will go into how to find a program that fits your interests. Other students include Kearyn Brennan talking about the athletics and pre-professional degree programs offered, Matteo Mescino with his experience as a transfer student, Maria Harley discussing connecting with the industry and professional development, Sam Zapata’s experience as an international student, and Emmy Pinzon on involvement and belonging at UWSP.
As you can see, The College Tour will be diving into every angle of being a real student on campus, and they aim to provide a relatable portrayal that can reach students from every possible background. To check it out, you can either attend the watch party in the DUC Theater on February 20th from 11:30-12:15pm, or it will be live on Amazon Prime at the end of May!
