Get Ready to Vote on April 1

No Comments on Get Ready to Vote on April 1

As the April 1 election approaches, we want to ensure that University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point students are well-prepared to cast their votes and make a meaningful impact in their community. Voting is a vital opportunity for students to actively participate in shaping the future.

If you plan to vote in Wisconsin, here are some important reminders to ensure a smooth voting experience:

  1. Check Voter Registration: Both in-state and out-of-state students can register to vote in-person at their polling place on Election Day. To check if they’re already registered, they can visit the MyVote Wisconsin website.
  2. Know What to Bring: To register, students need to bring proof of residence and a valid ID. To vote, students need to present a valid form of identification. They can use a Wisconsin Driver’s License or their UWSP student ID (best out-of-state option), provided it states “Voter ID exp: DD/MM/YYYY.” If their student ID doesn’t meet this requirement, they can obtain a free new ID at the UWSP PointCard Office.
  3. Locate Their Polling Place: Students residing in North DeBot Quad and Allen Quad will vote at the Stevens Point Recreation Center, while those in South DeBot Quad will vote at the Dreyfus University Center (DUC). Students living off-campus can find their designated polling place through MyVote Wisconsin.

For more detailed information, including what’s on the ballot, visit the MyVote Wisconsin website.

Thank you for making your voice heard at the polls!
