Hello Pointers! It’s crazy how the end of the semester has snuck up on us so fast! That means that finals will be happening soon. I will provide you with some helpful tips to prepare you for finals.
- Take study breaks
- While studying for many hours is tempting, your brain needs some downtime to retain information. Use breaks to move your body, grab a snack or take a power nap.
- Be organized
- When you are organized, it reduces stress and helps improve your focus. Keep a calendar or planner to track assignments, exams and study times. Break large tasks into smaller, manageable tasks and do not forget deadlines.
- Attend study sessions or meet up with study buddies
- Studying with others can help you learn more, understand something better and stay motivated. Explaining your answers to others is a great way to retain information.
- Take care of yourself
- Keeping your body energized and healthy will support a healthy mind. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Along with eating balanced meals and drinking plenty of water. Even going on some walks can help boost concentration and give you a break.
- Eliminate distractions
- Constant interruptions will reduce focus and make studying less productive. Make sure to silence or turn off your phone. Even putting electronics in a separate room can decrease distraction. A quiet study area is the best atmosphere to retain information.
These tips will help guide you to a successful finals week. You all got this!
