One of the greatest benefits of being a college student is having access to many free activities, entertaining events, and student clubs that can help you branch out of your comfort zone and connect you with your fellow Pointers!

The Stevens Point Involvement Network (SPIN) is a great place to learn about all of the exciting things happening on campus. Here you can find student organizations, volunteer opportunities, campus events, employment opportunities, and student resources all in one place!

No matter what you are interested in getting involved with on campus, SPIN makes it super easy to join. Here are just some examples of the types of activities listed on SPIN.

Entertainment:

From live musical performances, to movie showings in the DUC theater, and prize packed bingo nights, there are plenty of events on campus to get you involved. Show up with your friends or set out alone and meet new people!

Campus and community events can be found on SPIN!

Athletics:

Students looking to stay fit are in luck. There are two workout facilities on campus, one of which is UWSP’s brand new DAWG Fitness Center! Both workout facilities (DAWG Fitness and Champions Hall Fitness Center) are free to students and fully equipped with both cardio and weight machines.

DAWG fitness also houses Group Ex classes. With options like yoga, aquafit, cycling, dance fusion, pilates, and full body workouts, there is a Group Ex class for everyone.

Intramural sports are also a great way to stay active and open to everyone at any skill level. You can gather your friends and join as a team or enter alone and meet some awesome fellow Pointers! Sports offered include basketball, soccer, badminton, volleyball, and so many more.

Student Organizations and Clubs:

No matter your major, there is most likely a student organization on campus that can connect you with others who have similar interests and aspirations. Student organizations include Student Legal Society, Public Relations Student Society of America, American Water Resources Association, or Herpetology Society, just to name a few!

If you’re looking to unplug from academics and just have some fun, there are plenty of clubs for that too. Board Game Club, Tabletop Wargaming Club, InterVarsity, and Cru allow for some fun and social interaction!

Organizations like the Gender Sexuality Alliance, Latino Student Alliance, and Mental Health Advocates also offer educational opportunities such as Narcan training and Sex Education Bingo that are both fun and educational.

Greek life on campus is also a great way to meet new people and engage in fulfilling philanthropy work.

These examples only scratch the surface of what there is available to do on campus. If any of these interested you or you want to learn more, you can visit the spin page HERE.
