The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is committed to keeping students safe and healthy. That is why the Counseling Center offers free, professional and confidential services to all Pointers.
There are a variety of services offered at the UWSP Counseling Center like individual therapy sessions in person or on zoom, group therapy sessions, courses on self-care, wellness coaching, screening tools, and access to the mental health app, Mantra. If you are looking for a virtual therapy option that includes appointments during evenings and weekends and a diverse variety of providers, Mantra is a good fit for you.
In the case of an immediate emergency, Pointers can utilize CONNECTNOW at (888)531-2142 where trained professionals are available 24/7 to de-escalate situations. Between the hours of 11am-11pm, someone will answer the phone within one minute or appear via video on the Mantra app within ten minutes.
In a serious or life-threatening situation, always call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
You can call the Counseling Center at 715-346-3553 to schedule an appointment or visit them in person. The Counseling Center is now located in the new Health and Wellness Center in the Marshfield Clinic Champions Hall building.
