At UWSP, it is essential for students to have a PointCard. With your PointCard, you can access many great resources such as:
- Your residential hall, meal plan, and Dawg Dollar purchases
- Text Rental, Library services, and inter-library loans
- Fitness/Recreation opportunities on all 3 campuses
- Free city bus rides
- Campus sporting events
- Many other UWSP services and benefits
- Various off-campus businesses give discounts to students- just show your UWSP Student ID.
If you have not gotten your PointCard yet or are worried that you lost it or it has been stolen, do not worry! We will cover the steps you can take to resolve those issues shortly.
Getting a PointCard
If you are a new student and will be attending an orientation session, that is when you can obtain your PointCard. Just make sure to upload a photo of yourself on the GET App at least 24 hours before your scheduled orientation date. If your photo was approved, you will receive an email before you arrive on campus letting you know that you can grab your card from the PointCard Office.
If your photo was not approved, you can take a new photo while at orientation. Then, you will have to pick up the card once your session is over at the PointCard Office. The PointCard Office is located at 601 Division Street- the campus building right next to Dunkin Donuts.
Here are a few reminders about the criteria for taking your ID photo:
- Choose a solid, light color like a white wall as a background for your photo
- The photo must be of just you—do not include friends, pets, etc.
- Remove hats, sunglasses, headphones, or other accessories. Head coverings are allowed only if worn daily for religious purposes.
- Directly face the camera and take a centered headshot from the shoulders up
- Make sure that your full face is visible in the photo
- Crop and size your photo to size
- Do not use any filters
Transfer students and students unable to attend an on-campus orientation should visit the PointCard Office as soon as they are on campus. Make sure to bring a government issued photo ID, such as your driver’s license. The PointCard Office will be able to take your photo and print out your student ID.
Replacing a Lost or Stolen PointCard
Once you have identified that your PointCard is missing, use this form to deactivate the card’s ability to unlock electronic locks to UWSP buildings and any secured areas to which you have access permissions. Then, deactivate the cards access to your campus services through the GET Website. If you are also a student who has enabled the U.S Bank ATM options, you can temporarily lock these features if you believe that you will find your card, or you can permanently disable these features.
Stop by a U.S. Bank branch office or call U.S. Bank at 715-343-2210 (business hours) or 800-872-2657 (after hours) and ask to have the ATM options on the card temporarily locked or disabled. You can also lock your ATM options in your U.S. Bank mobile app or in your U.S. Bank online banking portal.
Lost or stolen PointCards can be replaced at the PointCard Office during normal business hours and with a $20 charge. The office will already have your photo on file so all that you must worry about is bringing another form of photo ID to verify your identity. Once you receive your new PointCard, the previous card will be deactivated.
