Technology plays a vital role in keeping people connected globally. It is also an important tool in workplaces, including at UWSP. Below are different things that can help make technology as easy as possible at UWSP.
Where to go when you have computer or technology problems
If you have a problem with a campus or personal device, the IT Service Desk is here to help. They also loan computers to students who need them!
The IT Service Desk can complete some repairs to student computers, including:
- Virus and malware removal
- System rebuilds
- Data recovery
- Data migration
- Software installations
- System Upgrades
- Some hardware issues
For more information and how to set up an appointment, see the Information Technology website.
The IT Service Desk can also help with services such as resetting your UWSP account password, setting up Microsoft Authenticator and more.
Contact the IT Service Desk at 715-346-4357 or itsvdesk@uwsp.edu. Their on-campus location is at 601 Division Street, room 101.
Technology recommendations for students
The Information Technology department has a page on recommended personal computer configurations to give you ideas on what to consider when purchasing a computer.
What if I don’t have a personal computer?
Each academic building and each residence hall have at least one computer lab for your use.
Technology is important for students. All of us use it every day for submitting assignments or just to check our email. Be sure to reach out to the IT Service Desk if you need any help!
