Let’s be honest, everyone says they want to make a difference, but at UWSP we have a chance to do it. Our campus isn’t just talking about sustainability, we live it every day. Here is how you can make a difference and have fun doing it.

  1. Join a Green Project

UWSP has something called the Green Fund, which literally gives students money to launch their own sustainability ideas. Some previous projects have included solar panels, compost bins, and bee friendly gardens. Got an idea to make UWSP greener? Apply for funding and make it happen!

  1. Help the Bees

Did you know UWSP is a Bee Campus USA? That means we have committed to creating pollinator-friendly spaces. You can get involved by planting flowers or helping maintain bee safe zones around campus.

  1. Shop, Don’t Spend

Check out The Closet for free clothing or The Backpack for school supplies. You will save money and help keep good stuff out of the landfills, it’s a win win. It is sustainability that benefits you right now.

  1. Learn and Lead

Sustainability is not just a fun activity; it is part of our academics too. Everyone can take classes on environmental studies or renewable energy. If you passionate you can even shape your future career around these subjects.

At UWSP, sustainability is a community. Whether you are composting after lunch, planting a garden, or going to The Closet, every action makes our campus stronger and more sustainable.
