Meal Plan Options on Campus

No Comments on Meal Plan Options on Campus

First and second-year students are required to participate in the dining program. When filling out your housing application, you will choose your meal plan best fit for your lifestyle.

UWSP Dining offers a variety of meal plans catered to your needs. The 2023-24 meal plans include four options, all priced at $1,875 per semester.

  • Option 1 – you get 19 meal swipes per week and $100 worth of Dawg Dollars
  • Option 2 – 14 meal swipes per week and $275 Dawg Dollars
  • Option 3 –10 meal swipes per week and $550 Dawg Dollars
  • Option 4 – $1,300 Dawg Dollars. No meal swipes.

You might be wondering: What is the difference between meal swipes and Dawg Dollars?

Meal swipes can be used at Upper DeBot Dining Hall. One swipe gives students access to the seven all-you-can-eat food stations, including Comfort Cuisine, Around the World, Lite Bites, Plain & Simple, Pizza & Penne, Seared & Serve, and Sweets & Treats. Meals reset every Monday. There are 19 meal opportunities every week. This consists of breakfast, lunch, and dinner during normal weekdays, then brunch and dinner during weekends.

Dawg Dollars, on the other hand, have a bit more flexibility with where they can be used. You can purchase anything from all University Dining locations on campus. Locations include Upper and Lower DeBot, Common Ground Café, Homegrown Café, and the DUC Food Court. Dawg Dollars are worth one dollar each. This meal plan must be used by the end of each semester, and they do not carry over to the next one. Essentially, you must use them or lose them as they are also not refundable.

So, if you’re looking for a little more flexibility on where you would like to eat on campus, Dawg Dollars are the way to go. If you know you’re going to mainly eat at Upper DeBot, meal swipes might be the best option for you.

Are you currently in a meal swipe plan but feel limited to only Upper DeBot? Or are you panicking about using up all of your Dawg Dollars? Don’t worry! Students have the ability to change their meal plan for the upcoming spring 2024 semester. All you have to do is log into the Housing Portal to change your meal plan option for next spring. The deadline to do so is December 31st, 2023.

There is also a meal plan option for off-campus students! The Off-Campus Meal Plan consists of $200 Dawg Dollars that can be used at all the Dining locations mentioned above. Off-campus students are free to add $50+ to their Dawg Dollar balance at any time.

Along with all of these great options, Dining is introducing a new meal plan that will be offered to students on and off campus for the Winter Semester (2024)! This plan consists of 38 meal swipes through Upper DeBot starting Tuesday Jan. 2-Sunday Jan. 21. Brunch (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) and Dinner (5 p.m.-7 p.m.) will be served during this period. The cost of this plan will be $300 and will be billed to students’ spring 2024 account. Sign up by Friday, December 15, 2023, to ensure your registration.
