Greetings, Pointers! We hope you are having an excellent first few weeks of summer break.
With the hustle of the academic year on pause, summer is a fantastic time to explore the community of Stevens Point.
If you’re looking for things to check out, here are some upcoming events in Stevens Point:
- The Levitt Amp concert series offers free music at the Pfiffner Park Bandshell every Thursday starting at 6 p.m.
- Watch the Mid-State Roller Derby, Season 12, Home Game 2 on June 22 at KB Willett Arena! Doors open at 4 p.m. and first whistle is at 4:30 p.m. Students can enter for $5 with a valid student ID.
- Explore the universe this summer by seeing a planetarium show at the Allen F. Blocher Planetarium on campus. Shows take place every Monday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The last show will be on July 17. For information on each show’s topic and where to park, see here.
- Check out Music in the Woods at the Pankowski Friends Amphitheater in Schmeeckle Reserve! The first concert of the series will be on June 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. See here for more information.
- Take a group bike ride on the trails at Standing Rocks County Park. Group bike rides happen every Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m. Note that trail passes are required for all riders.

Central Wisconsin is also a great place to spend time outdoors in the summer. Here’s a few spots to check out:
- Stevens Point is home to the longest-running farmers’ market in Wisconsin. Check out the market in the public square downtown every day of the week! It is open May through October from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The Green Circle Trail in Stevens Point is a 27-mile biking and hiking trail that offers views of rivers, forests, and wetlands. It is an excellent place to explore the outdoors!
- Iverson Park in Stevens Point.
- Rib Mountain State Park in Wausau.
