The countdown is on! With classes starting on Sep. 3, it is important to obtain materials that you need to be successful in your coursework, including textbooks.
Luckily for us students, UWSP has a unique text rental system that makes our textbooks affordable and easy to rent. Here is all that you need to know about using the text rental system:
How text rental works
Every semester, students pay a $90 fee that is automatically included in their tuition bill as a part of segregated fees. There are no additional charges for textbooks unless a student damages a book, fails to return it, or returns it three business days after the due date.
Because text rental is included in cost of tuition and fees, students can easily check out rental books for no additional cost.
Finding the books you need
The university provides you with a list of books you will need for each semester. To print it or take a picture of it, log in to accesSPoint and navigate to the My Classes tile. From there, click “My Book list,” then click “view your textbooks” and follow the prompts.
How and where to get your textbooks
You may get books by visiting the University Store & Text Rental, located on the lower level of the Dreyfus University Center.
The booklist is used to help locate rental and supplemental books, which are arranged alphabetically by course. Find your books and bring them to the checkout counter. A PointCard (student ID) is required to rent your books.
When to pick up/return textbooks
Pickup for fall and spring typically start the week before the first day of classes. Extended hours of operation are typically offered throughout the first week of classes each semester. Visit https://uwsp.bncollege.com for hours and other details.
Rental books should be returned by the last day of finals for the semester.
I see books called “supplemental” in my book list. What are those?
At times, students may need to purchase “supplemental” books or course materials in addition to any required Text Rental books. These additional purchased items often include lab manuals, workbooks, specific topic-course books, etc.
Are you in an 8-week course? Do you want to have your books shipped to your address? These questions and more can be answered by going to the Student Text Rental FAQ page or by calling the University Store and Text Rental at 715-346-3431.
I hope you had a fantastic summer! We have a lot to look forward to this semester at UWSP. If you are new to campus, welcome home! If you are returning, welcome back!
As always, it’s a great day to be a Pointer!
