This year, UWSP is having its first ever Fall Wellness Break which was an initiative brough forward by the Student Government Association (SGA)! This break will take place from October 25-27. Check out some of our recommendations for things students can do this break:
Taking a walk through Schmeeckle Reserve
- This is a 280-acre conservatory area on campus that is open to the public. Explore five miles of trails and boardwalks. The trail is open sunrise to sunset.
Visit Family and Friends
- Having a three-day weekend is a great opportunity to reconnect with family and friends!
Visit Feltz’s Dairy Store
- This break is right around Halloween, which would be a great time to visit Feltz’s Dairy Store. The annual haunted corn maze is back and happening on October 25th & 26th. You can also pick pumpkins to carve with family and friends. Visit their website for more details!
Hike up Rib Mountain
- With the nice fall weather happening, you could hike up Rib Mountain. This is a great way to see nature and the leaves change during fall! The park is open year-round from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Check SPIN Events
- SPIN always has events happening during the semester. Check their site and see what activities are planned during this Wellness Break.
Catch up on classes
- If you are behind in some classes, take this time to catch up. This time will allow you to not have to worry about any new class work.
Pointers, remember to use this wellness break as an opportunity to relax. Your mental health is important, and this is a perfect chance to relax and refresh during the fall semester.
