Staying Fit on Campus

No Comments on Staying Fit on Campus

Our campus is committed to helping students connect, be active and have fun, regardless of fitness level! No matter what they’re into or what they’re after, they’ll find an awesome assortment of fitness and recreation opportunities at UW-Stevens Point.

Program Areas:

  • Allen Fitness Center: Allen Fitness Center (AFC) is one of two fitness centers at UWSP, and is open seven days a week during the academic year. Both fitness centers are included in tuition and fees, so there is no additional cost for membership. The center offers a blend of strength and cardio equipment and a separate space for stretching and functional training. The facility has seven racks, six platforms, dumbbells, kettlebells, two weight circuits, and three rows of cardio equipment featuring bikes, treadmills, and ellipticals.
  • Aquatics Program: UWSP is home to an on-campus aquatics center that offers free swim weekly! The 8-lane lap swim area is 4.5 feet deep, and the diving well is 14.5 feet deep—plus the water maintains a comfortable 82° temperature. Some group exercise opportunities are available at the aquatics center as well as open swim 5 days per week.
  • Group Exercise: The Allen Center is also home to the Group Exercise program five days a week. Our student instructors offer a variety of fitness classes; from yoga to cycling, dance to strength, kickboxing to aqua classes; there is something for everyone! Classes are included in tuition and fees, so there is no additional cost for attendance. There is no need to reserve a spot, just arrive 15 minutes prior to the class and check in at the fitness center desk for your class pass. The Group Ex program is a great way to stay active and get to know other students on campus.
