Hey, Pointers! Applying for scholarships has been made easier with the brand new Scholarship Manager portal. Current and admitted UWSP students can apply for all institutional scholarships for the fall of 2025 through one application!
All students can apply for scholarships for the 2025 fall semester right now! The more information you provide, the more opportunities you can be given, but it is not required to fill out every question. The deadline to apply for current and first-year students is February 2, 2025.
If you are a new student coming into UWSP with at least a GPA of 3.25, you are automatically eligible for a $1,000 nonrenewable Invest in Your Purpose Scholarship! This is for the fall of 2025 for first-year domestic students.
Any scholarship requiring an application will need to be submitted by February 2, 2025, by 11:59 p.m. Scholarships are awarded independently of the FAFSA.
The scholarship I have been lucky enough to receive throughout my academic career at UWSP is the Destination Wisconsin Scholarship. This was available to me when I transferred to UWSP my sophomore year, and I have been receiving it every semester since. Being an out-of-state student, I get $2,000 a semester from this scholarship, totaling $4,000 a year.
The requirements for receiving this scholarship are as follows:
New undergraduate students with a 2.75+ GPA or 19+ ACT/980+ SAT or 75% class rank or greater at the time of application to the University who is not a resident of Wisconsin or Minnesota. Students will automatically be awarded this scholarship.
Other scholarships for out-of-state students include:
- Midwest Student Exchange Program Students**: $1,000/year, renewable for 4 years
- **Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Ohio residents
- All Return to Wisconsin students will receive a $1,000/year, renewable for 4 years
- All other Out-of-State Students: $4,000/year, renewable for 4 years
