Hello, Pointers! This is a reminder that April 21st – 27th is Earth Week, and many activities are happening on campus. Here are a few activities you should check out during this week! 

Monday, April 21st 

11:15 a.m. – 4 p.m. Plant Sale Fundraiser at the DUC Concourse Table #5 

5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Bridging the Divide: Discussing Agricultural Pollution and Waste Issues in SCI D320. Free pizza, fruit, and cookies at the event! 

6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Earth Week Schmeeckle Hike. Join the Women in Natural Resources for a Mental Health Hike in Schmeeckle Reserve. 

Tuesday, April 22nd 

7:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Ice Age Trail-Mecan River Segment Hiking Adventure: Register by April 15th, Required Event Fee 

6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Trivia Night at the Basement Brewhaus: Health Related Questions based on this year’s Earth Week theme – “Healthy Earth, Healthy Pointers” 

Wednesday, April 23rd: 

9:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Succulent and Chocolate bar Scale at the DUC Concourse Table #7, Required Event Fee 

12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The More You Sew, CASE Lobby: Bring any item you need mended, and it will be just like brand new(ish). 

6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Bob Ross Painting Event, DUC Encore 

Thursday, April 24th: 

1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Chalk the Walk in front of Old Main: Come decorate the front of Old Main with fun chalk art 

4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Save Green, CPS 209: Learn smart ways to save money and the planet while creating your own bank from a mason jar. 

Friday, April 25th: 

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Family Nature Program: Banding Together at Schmeeckle Reserve, Menzal Pavilion. Learn more about bird banding which may include a demonstration. 

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Cook and Learn CPS 211: Attend a vegetarian cooking class with a Food & Farm cooking instructor. 

Saturday, April 26th: 

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Family Nature Program: Capturing Moments in the Schmeeckle Reserve Pavilion. Explore more of Schmeeckle using cameras, magnifying glasses, and more. 

1:00 p.m. Family Nature Program: The Art Legacy of Fly Tying, Schmeeckle Reserve Visitors Center. Discover how anglers used the natural world for work. 

Sunday, April 27th: 

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Earth Day Tree Planting, Schmeeckle Reserve Visitors Center
