Upcoming Centertainment Events

Spring semester has officially started and students are getting back into gear! Some of us wake up to the first beep of our alarm clocks and some of us go through snooze a couple of times. Regardless of how you’re transitioning into this new semester, we all need a little motivation to get through.

Our very own Centertainment Productions has brought together a variety of acts and entertaining events in February and March for you and your friends!

February

1. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (Movie): Enjoy the magical experience of J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world! – Feb. 7 and 9 showings in The Theater, DUC at 6:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
2. Minute to Win It: Gather a group of friends and participate in a variety of games. Teams up to five people can compete to win! – Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
3. Stevens Point Trivia: How well do you know your university’s city? Challenge your knowledge on this February night. – Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Basement Brewhaus, DUC.
4. Comedian Jon Fisher: Take a break and enjoy some comedy! – February 13 at 9 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
5. Chi Noden: This highly energetic metal band will blow you away with their ferociously executed, brutal yet beautiful, melodic style. – Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
6. Comedy Open Mic Night: Sign up at University Information and Tickets for a 10-minute slot to perform stand-up comedy! – Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
7. Jacob Ramsey: This Stevens Point local musician will draw you in with his melodic acoustic sound. – Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. in the Basement Brewhaus, DUC.
8. Monsters and Men (Movie): “A bystander films the death of a black man at the hands of police, which sparks rising tensions in a New York neighborhood as some are moved to take a stand.” – Feb. 20 and 22 showings in The Theatre, DUC at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
9. Black History Crafts: Come out and create African baskets and cloth weaving. – Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
10. A Late-Night Trip to Kalahari (Water Park in Wisconsin Dells): Grab your friends and take advantage of this deal! Price for UWSP student is $20 and $25 for non-students. Sign up at University Information and Tickets. – Feb. 22, 8 p.m. departure.
11. Hypnotist Steven Stone: Check out Stone’s unique hypnotics. You’ll be in for a treat! – Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
12. Netflix Original Series Trivia: Let’s be honest with ourselves, how many hours do we spend binging Netflix? Well this is a perfect opportunity to put all of the hours of our favorite shows to use! – Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Basement Brewhaus, DUC.
13. Comedian Jeff Zenisek: THE GROUNDED Podcast host Zenisek will be providing Pointers with a night full of laughter! – Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
14. Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse (Movie): “Teen Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man of his reality, crossing paths with five counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.” This is a movie you have to see! After all, according to Stan Lee, “Anyone can wear the mask.” – Feb. 28 and March 2 showings in The Theater, DUC at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

March

1. Goodland: Start your weekend off right with rockin’ local music! – March 1 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
2. A Star Is Born (Movie): Starring Lady Gaga, “Seasoned musician Jackson Maine discovers, and falls in love with struggling artist Ally. She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer until Jackson coaxes her into the spotlight.” – March 7 and 9 showings in The Theater at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
3. Painting and Pancakes: Painting supplies, canvases, and pancakes will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, so get there early! – March 8 at 10 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
4. Movie Trivia: Calling all movie heads! This is the trivia night you want to be at! – March 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Basement Brewhaus, DUC.
5. Gaelic Storm: Let the music ignite you! Check out the big concert of the semester. Tickets are available at University Information and Tickets. – March 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Laird Room, DUC.
6. Game of Thrones Trivia: Winter is coming! G.O.T. fans, this one’s for you. – March 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Basement Brewhaus, DUC.
7. Cactus Rocks: Plants can be a lot of maintenance — but not rocks! Come decorate your very own rock plants. Supplies provided on a first-come, first-served basis. – March 28 at 7 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
8. Morgan Jeidy: This UWSP student musician will charm you with her acoustic music! – March 30 at 8 p.m. in the Basement Brewhaus, DUC.
