The Campus Activities and Student Engagement staff have been preparing all summer to bring you nothing but the best for your fall semester. Most events are FREE with your UWSP student ID (unless otherwise noted). Check it out:

SEPTEMBER

  1. Movie TBA: Enjoy watching a movie with your friends in The Theater, Dreyfus University Center (DUC) on Sept. 25. Showings are at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
  2. Sustainable Saturday: Volunteer sign-ups in SPIN. – Sept. 28, 10 a.m.-Noon
  3. DJ Ekow (Rap): Why leave campus when you can hang out with your friends while listening and dancing to DJ Ekow. – Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC

OCTOBER

  1. Join the Club: Volunteer sign-up in SPIN. – Oct. 2, from 4-6 p.m.
  2. Mark Poolos (Comedian): Provides original clean stand-up comedy you will get a kick out of! Poolos is a national touring comedian you won’t want to miss. – Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  3. Doug Thompson (Hypnotist): Go on a skilled adventure with Thompson with his one-man hypno show. – Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  4. FAMILY DAY: Invite your family up to visit and join in the festivities. Schedule coming soon! – Oct. 5
  5. Unbe “Leaf” Able (Craft): Get artsy at this fall themed craft night. Supplies to decorate signs, mason jars and lanterns are all included. – Free with a UW-Stevens Point (UWSP) student ID. Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  6. General Trivia: The second general trivia of the semester is ready for your mind to answer these new questions. If you didn’t attend the first one, that’s ok! You can still attend this one! – Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Basement Brewhaus, DUC
  7. Coffee and Culture: Campus Activities and Student Engagement (CASE) is putting on Cultural Conversation. Snag a cup of coffee and learn more about current cultural topics. – Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Laird Room, DUC
  8. Movie TBA: Enjoy watching a movie with your friends in The Theater, DUC on Oct. 10 and 12, showings at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
  9. Battle of the Bands: Does your band got what it takes? You can win a $275 contract to headline a show! Register at University Information & Tickets today! Signups end Oct. 4. Battle on Oct. 11. If you have any questions contact Michael at mzawa046@uwsp.edu.

  11. Tyler Boeh (Comedian): He’s professionally funny and he brings his “beatboxing” skills to his shows. Take a break from classes and enjoy a laugh. – Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  12. Cupcake Wars: UWSP’s first cupcake wars! Be creative and come decorate a cupcake for fun or for the glory. – Free with UWSP student ID. Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  13. Mythology Trivia: Greek, Norse and other mythological trivia will be presented at this folk tale event. – Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  14. Coffee and Culture: CASE Cultural Conversation. Snag a cup of coffee and learn more about current cultural topics. – Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. in the Laird Room, DUC
  15. Movie TBA: Take a break from your classes and enjoy watching a movie with your friends in The Theater, DUC on Oct. 23 and 25, showings at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
  16. Make a Difference Day: Check in is at PJ Jacobs Jr. High at 8 a.m. – Oct. 26, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  17. Noah Sonie (Magician): Be ready to be shockingly amazed by Sonie. From his YouTube videos of impossible money tricks to hacking into a locked iPhone! – Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  18. Sunday with Seniors: Volunteer sign-ups in SPIN. – Oct. 27, 1:30 p.m.-3 p.m.
  19. Mickey Housley (Comedian): Housley will have you cracking up! If you’re needing a good laugh this is the place to be. – Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. in The Encore, DUC

NOVEMBER

  1. Open Spoken Word Night: Come share what’s been in your heart or come to listen and encourage others. All are welcomed! – Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  2. The Present Age with No Love Dog: Punk/Rock/Indie Band you won’t want to miss! – Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  3. Coffee and Culture: CASE Cultural Conversation. Snag a cup of coffee and learn more about current cultural topics. – Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. in the Laird Room, DUC
  4. Join the Club: Activity/Entertainment, sign-up in SPIN. – Nov. 6, 4-6 p.m.
  5. Movie TBA: Enjoy watching a movie with your friends in The Theater, DUC on Nov. 6 and 8, showings at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
  6. Blackout Poetry: Blackout poems are made by taking a source text (often “un-poetic” like a textbook, junk mail, a newspaper article, a brochure, or the page from a book) and crossing out most of the words. The words that remain make the poem. Enhance your poem by adding an illustration or design to the page that connects to your poem. Connect with your inner poet. – Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in The Encore, DUC.
  7. General Trivia: It’s the last general trivia of the semester you won’t want to miss. – Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Basement Brewhaus, DUC
  8. Arvin Mitchell (Comedian): The comedian actor will be in Stevens Point for a show one night only this semester! – Nov.13 at 7 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  9. Tim Cheesebrow (Musician): Midwestern acoustic folk-rock music is what you’re in for this night! He’s known for his percussive guitar work, capo-wizardry and an expressive voice big enough to fill any room. – Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  10. Comedy Open Mic Night: This is your chance to let your funny side show. Share it with your friends! – Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  11. Smash Bros Tournament (1v1 and 2v2): The gaming event of the semester finally makes an appearance. Whether you’re cheering a friend on or competing, this event is going to be a blast! – Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in The Encore, DUC

  15. Of the Orchard (Pop Rock): “Of the Orchard is the fruitful product of former seeds planted by John Mayer and 90s alternative rock. If you like cute love songs and rock n’ roll, you’ll like the musical stylings of the four-man band, Of the Orchard from Minneapolis.” – Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  16. Sports Trivia: Do you know a bit too much about sports? Well you can finally pour all your knowledge out and let everyone know your skills. – Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Basement Brewhaus, DUC

DECEMBER

  1. Join the Club: Volunteer sign-up in SPIN. – Dec. 4, 4-6 p.m.
  2. Movie TBA: Enjoy a night-in watching a movie with your friends in The Theater, DUC on Dec. 4 and 6, showings at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
  3. Mayyh3m & Myndd (Rap): Two extremely talented rappers from Milwaukee. Opening for them will be one of UWSP’s own, Ju. – Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
  4. Science Trivia: Yes, we finally have a science themed trivia. All that knowledge you gained from classes can finally be put to the test! – Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Basement Brewhaus, DUC
  5. Mark Ellis (Comedian): The last event of the semester is an event you can laugh your socks off at before you begin studying for finals. You need a break, why not take it? – Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. in The Encore, DUC
