The school year is in full swing! What better way to celebrate than with Homecoming. Homecoming is a great way for current and past UW-Stevens Point students to celebrate what it means to be a Pointer. Here are still a few ways you can celebrate.
For students, there are daily activities you can participate in. This week there are daily “Coffee with the Colleges” Zoom sessions where you can get to know each of the different colleges here on campus. These are great events to attend if your major is undecided.
On Thursday there are two great events that will really connect you to Stevens Point. The first is the #UWSPHomecoming 2021 Trivia: An Hour with Oz, Eck and Dac. This is a great way to test your Stevens Point knowledge and ask the gurus behind the world’s largest Trivia Contest anything you want to know. The other great event you can go to is the Wisconsin Hometown Stories: Stevens Point Live Premiere Screening at Pfiffner Pioneer Park Bandshell to see the premiere of the PBS Wisconsin documentary that shows off the history of Stevens Point. This is a great way to get away from campus and learn a little more about the community you are living in. All these events lead up to the Homecoming Football Game happening on Saturday at Goerke Field. Make sure to wear your purple and gold and support Pointer Football as they face off against UW-River Falls.
Don’t worry! Alumni, we have some major events just for you. The first one is happening right before the homecoming game on Saturday. The Alumni Association will be having an Alumni Reunion Tent at Goerke from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Stop by to say hi to Stevie and win some amazing prizes. When you are done you can catch the game before watching the first-ever virtual Alumni Awards. The award ceremony will be starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Make sure to RSVP to get a reminder email, and if you are within the first 100 people to RSVP you will receive a box of epic pointer swag!
This is a very exciting week Pointers that you are not going to want to miss out on. This is just the beginning of things returning to normal. Cannot wait to see all the Pointer spirit this week and hope to see you at the game on Saturday. Enjoy Homecoming everyone!
