As a first year student, attending Welcome Week activities was important because I met other new students, spent time with my community advisors (CAs), and got to know my way around campus. Welcome Week is a time for students to unwind, adjust to their new home, and blow off some steam before the semester kicks off!

Labor of Love is one of my favorite activities of Welcome Week. Students gather to give back to their community by volunteering their time and talents for a few hours. Last year my group went to a local animal shelter to garden, and afterwards we may have gotten to pet a few cats! Can you tell I love cats?!

First year students living in the residence halls are required to go to events starred with an asterisk (*). All others are optional and voluntary, but you will have tons of fun going to all events listed!
Along with all these fun and informational events going on, it is recommended that you get your textbooks at the University Store and Text Rental located in the Dreyfus University Center. Avoid long lines by getting your books right away when arriving on campus!
