Physical educators throughout Wisconsin broke a sweat during the 11th Annual Best Practices in Health and Physical Education conference, held this week at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
The conference was held July 26-28 in the UW-Stevens Point Health Enhancement Center, making this the ninth year that the university has hosted the event. Best Practices draws in over 80 K-12 teachers every year to learn new, innovative ways to improve their teaching programs.
“I am particularly proud that we have 10-12 alumni each year come back to Point for professional development,” said Scott Frazier, a UW-Stevens Point physical education professor.
Working with the Department of Public Instruction and Wisconsin Health and Public Education, Best Practices invites top names in the physical education profession to lead workshops. This includes UW-Stevens Point alumna Cindy Forsythe, the recipient of the Health, Exercise Science, and Athletics Friend of PE award this past April.
