UWSP food and nutrition professor Jasia Steinmetz, Ph.D., RD, CD, was featured on NBC15 in Madison on Monday, Oct. 10. Steinmetz’s book, “Eat Local: Simple Steps to Enjoy Real, Healthy & Affordable Food” explains how inexpensive food and the global food system are major contributors to many of the problems facing our country and planet today: obesity and other health problems, environmental pollution, climate change, and loss of local jobs. Consumers have heard about local foods, but most don’t know how to go about changing their food choices. Eat Local is a simple, step-by-step, roadmap for consumers interested in improving their diets with local, sustainable food choices.
Steinmetz was also featured in the Central Wisconsin Sunday: Book offers how-to guide for locally grown food.
