HPW Student Internship Experience – Suzanne Schreiner Summer 17′

Interning at LiFE OF HOPE was one of the best learning experiences of my college
career. The small office (only 1 full-time employee – the founder/executive director) allowed me to develop an amazing relationship with my supervisor as she mentored me professionally and personally. I was able to work with clients in crisis as they worked towards improving and maintaining their mental health. I also helped connect with the community to raise awareness of the organization and fundraise for events. I participated in a few committees for different events and programs as well. I helped to create documents for programs to continue their success as well as learned about all of the behind-thescenes budgeting, marketing, promotion, networking, outreach, and grant writing.

The student will complete 3-4 resume-building experiences from the categories below. Specific projects and outcomes may be added as addendum to this plan within the first 2 weeks of being on-site. Significant changes to the Objectives will be mutually agreed upon by the Internship site supervisor, the student intern, and the UWSP internship supervisor and documentation of these changes will be sent to the UWSP internship supervisor.
