HPW Internship: Student Experience
Interning at Prevea Health in Green Bay was a great experience to use and expand on many of the skills I learned in class at UWSP.
I worked directly with all of Prevea’s health coaches getting hands on experience with conducting HRA’s and biometric screenings. I also got to sit in with the different health coaches for individual coaching to observe many different styles of coaching. I was also sent out on my own to conduct weigh in’s, blood pressure screenings, body composition testing and health fair booths at many different companies. The health coaching profession requires a lot of traveling around to different companies and a good bit of flexibility in your schedule, you are constantly doing different things and it keeps work interesting. I spent my time in the office working on promotional materials and the organizational side of wellness programs and HRA’s.
