School of Business and Economics Awards Scholarships

The UW-Stevens Point School of Business and Economics handed out 42 student scholarships as well as multiple awards to students and faculty at its 2018 Awards Reception sponsored by Associated Bank Friday, April 20 in the Dreyfus University Center Laird Room. [Photo Gallery]

The School of Business and Economics is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), ranking our program among the top 20 percent in the nation and top 5 percent in the world.

Rachel Badertscher from Marshfield, Wis., is double majoring in accounting and business administration.

  • W.B. Greaton Scholarship

Alissa Barth from Marshfield, Wis., graduated with a degree in accounting and business administration this past fall semester. She is a member of the Heart of Wisconsin IMA.

  • IMA Student Leadership Award

Allison Batterman from Fond du Lac, Wis., is double majoring in accounting and business administration, and minoring in economics and psychology. Allison is a volunteer at The Cupboard, a member of the UWSP Financial Literacy Association, and a member of the UWSP Colleges Against Cancer group.

  • Carl N. Jacobs and Sentry Insurance Scholarship

Katrina Butts from Pleasant Prairie, Wis., is majoring in business administration with a concentration in management. Katrina is the president of the UWSP Financial Literacy Association, the business director for SPTV, and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. She volunteers for Sundays with Seniors and as a financial coach for UWSP and Portage County.

Makaela DeBoer from Arpin, Wis., is double majoring in accounting and business administration with a concentration in finance, insurance, and real estate. Makaela is a volunteer for the Auburndale Music Festival, Multiple Sclerosis Walk/Run in Marshfield, and Special Olympics. She is a member of the UWSP Accounting Club, National Society of Leadership and Success, and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society.

Kim Delikowski from Stevens Point, Wis., is majoring in business administration with a management concentration. Kim is a volunteer for the Portage County Humane Society and an annual bike ride participant in the Special Olympics Torch Run.

April Eisenschink from Manitowoc, Wis., is majoring in business administration with a concentration in finance, insurance, and real estate. She is studying French for a basic second language proficiency certificate. April is a peer advisor for the School of Business and Economics and the student manager for the UWSP Phone Center. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, UWSP Financial Literacy Association, UWSP Sign Language Club, and volunteers for the UWSP Dance Marathon.

  • Northwestern Mutual Bob “Rap” Taylor Scholarship

Alexa Englund from White Bear Lake, Minn., is majoring in business administration with concentrations in management and marketing, and a minor in military science. Alexa is a member of the Pointers women’s hockey team. She also is part of the Wisconsin Army National Guard and participated in the UWSP Reserve Officer Training Course (ROTC).

Ashlyn Fellowes from Marathon, Wis., is majoring in business administration with concentrations in management and marketing. Ashlyn is a member of the UWSP Society of Human Resource Management, Yoga and Meditation Club, and

Brendyn Ford from Machesney Park, Ill., is double majoring in business administration and economics. Brendyn is a member of the Pointers football team and the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. He also volunteers by reading to students at local elementary schools.

Jessica Holzmann from Elkhart Lake, Wis., is double majoring in accounting and business administration. Jessica is a member of the UWSP Accounting Club, Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity.

Abbey Johnson from Black River Falls, Wis., is double majoring in business administration and interior architecture. Abbey is a member of two honor societies, the American Society of Interior Designers, the Illuminating Engineering Society, and the International Interior Design Association. She is a member of the Pointers tennis team and also volunteers at Brookdale Assisted Living, Ronald McDonald House, Community Cleanup, and youth sports.

Angela Karlen from Edgar, Wis., is majoring in business administration with a concentration in marketing. Angela is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, National Society of Leadership and Success, and volunteers for the Tutoring-Learning Center.

Sydney Kerkhoff from Clements, Minn., is double majoring in accounting and business administration.

Rebecca Lamermayer from Marshfield, Wis., is double majoring in accounting and business administration with a concentration in finance, insurance, and real estate, and minoring in communication and economics. Rebecca is the treasurer for Order of the Omega, and a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. She volunteers for CAP Services Head Start, Make a Difference Day, Be the Change, and blood drives.

Jacob Luepke from Bonduel, Wis., is double majoring in economics and business administration with a concentration in finance, insurance, and real estate. Jacob is a member of the UWSP Financial Literacy Association, National Society of Leadership and Success, and volunteers for Junior Achievement.

Alex Molland from Beloit, Wis., is triple majoring in accounting, business administration and economics. Alex is the tax and assurance intern at CliftonLarsonAllen.

Caleb Nysse from Adell, Wis., is double majoring in business administration and economics. Caleb is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Hope Persells from Weyauwega, Wis., is majoring in business administration with a concentration in management. Hope is a member of the Waupaca Recreational Ladies Fall Volleyball League and volunteers at Waupaca’s 1st Assembly of God in the nursery, preschool, and Sunday school. She also runs 5K, 10K and half marathons.

Stephanie Ports from Freedom, Wis., is majoring in business administration with a concentration in finance, insurance, and real estate, and a minor in economics. Stephanie is a member of the UWSP Financial Literacy Club. She also is a loan officer at Belmont Finance and a commercial credit intern at Peoples State Bank.

Kari Rasmussen from Wausau, Wis., is majoring in business administration with a concentration in management. Kari volunteers at Zoro’s Locker, a food pantry in Wausau.

Erika Rattunde from Madison, Wis., is double majoring in business administration and economics. Erika is the senior research assistant at the Central Wisconsin Economic Research Bureau.

Kely Rodriguez from Santa Barbara, Honduras, is double majoring in accounting and business administration with a concentration in management. Kely is the campus ambassador for Becker Professional Education and Wisconsin Institute of CPAs, the treasurer for UWSP International Club, the treasurer for UWSP Accounting Club, and is a tea and talk leader for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. She volunteers with CAP Service’s VITA program as a tax preparer.

Annie Schirmer from Marengo, Ill., is double majoring in accounting and business administration with a concentration in finance, insurance and real estate. Annie is a member of the IMA, UWSP Accounting Club and Rotary Club. She also participates in intramural volleyball.

Aaron Swanson from Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., is double majoring in accounting and business administration. Aaron is a volunteer tax preparer for CAP Service’s VITA program and is the Publicity Coordinator for the UWSP Accounting Club.

James Uelmen from Pulaski, Wis., is double majoring in accounting and business administration with a concentration in finance, insurance, and real estate, and a minor in economics. James is a founder of the UWSP Accounting Club and volunteers through the Newman Center.

McKenzie Wessell-Woodcock from Beloit, Wis., is majoring in business administration with concentrations in management and marketing, and a minor in psychology. McKenzie is a member of the UWSP Knitting and Crocheting Club and participates in intramurals.

Nicole Williams-Sullivan from Eagle River, Wis., is double majoring in data analytics and business administration with a concentration in marketing.

Morgan is a member of the Pointers volleyball team, National Society of Leadership and Success, and participates in intramurals. She volunteers at the Pointer Pups Volleyball Camps and Hope Starts Here.

She volunteers for Big Brother, Big Sister.
