UW-Stevens Point Assistant Professor Beth Kinslow advocates for improved mental health and wellbeing as a certified mental health first aid instructor through the National Council of Mental Wellbeing. Because of Beth’s training and passion for improved mental health, UWSP students, athletes, coaches, faculty and staff have learned to recognize and respond to signs and symptoms that may indicate a mental health or substance use challenge in a colleague or friend. Her work continues to promote inclusion, equity and diversity in the athletic training program and throughout the whole campus community.
For her efforts, Beth was presented the 2023 College of Professional Studies Ethel and Ward Family Faculty Heroes Award. Watch her story!
