HOSA-Future Health Professionals recognized the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as the recipient of the 2024 Educational Excellence Award for its extraordinary leadership in the educational community to enhance HOSA’s ability to provide opportunities and experiences ultimately helping HOSA members achieve their educational goals to become future health professionals.
Becky Konietzki, director of the School of Health Sciences and Wellness Student Success Center, accepted the award at the 2024 HOSA International Leadership Conference on Friday, June 28 in Houston. Welcoming over 12,000 attendees, including HOSA members, advisors, accomplished health professionals, and esteemed alumni, this gathering spanned multiple days filled with vibrant HOSA-centered activities.
The UW-Stevens Point School of Health Sciences and Wellness aims to prepare students to live healthy lives in a variety of high demand healthcare and biomedical science careers. Through this vision, the school has been a long-standing partner of Wisconsin HOSA-Future Health Professionals hosting seven Fall Leadership Conferences dating back to 2014 and being actively engaged in numerous Wisconsin HOSA State Leadership Conferences. The university has also been a proud sponsor of the Wisconsin HOSA State Leadership Conference for five years, providing over $5,000 in monetary scholarships to graduating HOSA members attending UWSP.
HOSA-Future Health Professionals is a global student-led organization providing unique classroom experiences and opportunities in the health professions with enhanced leadership development and recognition opportunities for career-minded students in middle school, high school, postsecondary and collegiate institutions.
