Rachel Craig, associate professor of audiology, serves as a clinical director for the Special Olympics Wisconsin Healthy Hearing program. Through training UW-Stevens Point graduate student volunteers to provide hundreds of free hearing screenings and follow-up recommendations, Rachel is making a lasting impact on athletes’ communication ability, quality of life, social interactions and health. Without these screenings, most athletes’ hearing problems are previously undetected, un-served or under-treated.
For her efforts, Rachel was presented the 2024 Ethel and Ward Cable Family Faculty Heroes Award in the College of Professional Studies. Watch her story!
