HPW Student Internship Experience – Cole Lemmenes Summer 18′

Interning at Camp Watitoh in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts for the summer of 2018 has been an unforgettable opportunity thus far. Working here and becoming part of the such a tight niche community has given me the experience to work alongside a professional staff and kids all at the same time. Here at Camp Watitoh I am in charge of the hockey program. I create lesson plans, facilitate all programs, and teach hockey to various age groups ranging from 8 to 16 years old. All though my position at camp is the hockey specialist I assist in many different areas including water skiing, rock climbing, special events, general counselor, trip chaperon, and help out with many other things at go on at camp. There is never a dull day at camp and no two days are the same. We work constantly around the clock and have very little time to ourselves, but from this experience I feel comfortable with being able to perform any job that is given to me and being able to perform it well.

Above you can see Cole (Middle) scrimmaging with a group of girls during a hockey period at Camp Watitoh. A typical session usually includes a warm up, a couple drills, and them some games to wrap up the session.
