Lynzie Ashley is determined to become a teacher of the visually impaired and teach braille to other students who are blind to influence the lives of young students – a dream she has had since junior high. She volunteers to share her story with other UW-Stevens Point School of Education students so they can be better educators to their future students who are blind or visually impaired. Lynzie has also completed more than the required number of practicum hours with local schools to take any opportunity she can to make a positive impact.
For her efforts, Lynzie was presented the 2023 College of Professional Studies Dick Cable and Judy Cable Anderson Student Heroes Award. Watch her story!
